Color Choice Decides How Well It Glows

Photoluminescent pigment has to absorb light before it can give anything back. That is why the base color of a glow in the dark bar mat matters more than almost anything else on the spec sheet. Black and other deep shades block the pigment from charging: a 100% red or 100% blue mat can look sharp under daylight, yet barely glow once the lights go down. For the strongest effect we keep the base color very light. A 10% blue, for example, looks pale blue in normal light, and once the light drops it glows clearly in that same pale blue. What you see in daylight is what you see glowing.

Multiple glow colors available

The photos on this page were taken in low light, which is when the effect really shows. Glow does not have to cover the whole mat. Plenty of customers prefer only the logo to light up while the mat body keeps its normal color — the branding stays the focal point and the mat looks less busy in a dim venue. We build the glow areas around your artwork, so full-surface glow, logo-only glow, or a mix of the two are all available.

Glow color is normally matched to the base color of the mat. A pale purple base, for instance, is paired with a purple glow, so the mat keeps one consistent color in daylight and simply brightens after dark instead of flipping to an unrelated hue. Standard glow pigments are red, blue, yellow, white, green and orange. Green is still the most ordered option, simply because it charges fastest and holds its afterglow longest.
